What to do differently with your dog in the summertime

With the warmer weather comes some changes in how we need to take care of our furry friends. Here are a few things to keep in mind for taking care of your dog during the summer months!

First, make sure you’re walking your dog early in the morning or later at night when it’s cooler outside. The pavement can get incredibly hot during peak hours and burn your pup’s paws.

Second, always have fresh water available and consider getting a doggy pool for them to cool off in. Dogs can get heatstroke just like humans so preventing this is key.

Lastly, don’t forget the sunscreen! Pets with light fur or no fur at all can get sunburned. Look for a pet-safe sunscreen and apply it to their nose and any other exposed areas.

By following these simple tips, you and your dog can enjoy a fun summer together! For more information on dog care during the summer, check out our website or give us a call. We’re always happy to help!

Have a great summer!
